I am proud and humbled to have been asked to write a short opening for this 100th edition of NEARWEEK, the most comprehensive NEAR Protocol newsletter. Like many of you, NEARWEEK is my favourite place to go and read about the incredible developments happening in the NEAR ecosystem.
The world around us continues to tremble, and the weekend was pretty dramatic with the fall of SVB and the de-peg of USDC. And while things for now seem to be “solved”, I'm sure that consequences and lessons to learn will be plentiful.
NEAR Foundation has put out a short statement - none of our funds are exposed neither in SVB nor Silvergate.
Our collective fundamentals remain solid: increasingly fantastic talent builds across the ecosystem, we have strong tech, solid funding and a bold, ambitious and differentiated strategy — with NEAR evolving into being the BOS (“Blockchain Operating System”).
With BOS, NEAR becomes the entry point for the Open Web, making it easier for users and developers to access and navigate both Web3 and Web2 seamlessly - mainstream adoption is now possible. You can experience it at: alpha.near.org
I am extremely excited by the progress and successes I see in the NEAR ecosystem (if you are in doubt, check this tweet). NEAR continues to go from strength to strength amidst a difficult market, and each one of you plays a key role in this. META POOL : IMPROVING GENDER DIVERSITY IN WEB3
To celebrate International Women’s Day, Meta Pool is hosting two women-led roundtable discussions. Despite the rising number of women who own crypto, women remain underrepresented in Web3, making up less than 5% of DeFi entrepreneurs and founders. ETHDenver showcased the readiness of Aurora Labs to take over the world despite the bear market. Protocol Lead, Michael Birch announced the release of the Aurora Contracts SDK, opening up a new era of cross-ecosystem communication between NEAR and Aurora. DE.FI : INTRODUCING THE FIRST CRYPTO ANTIVIRUS TO AURORA
The inventor of Crypto’s First Antivirus, De.Fi, has fully integrated with Aurora, providing an additional layer of security for users of the blockchain. This includes the De.Fi Scanner, which offers users a vital solution to the security challenges posed by the DeFi ecosystem. LINK
